RBI Announces Bank Holidays Across India in September 2025New Delhi: According to the RBI’s official bank holiday calendar, banks across various parts of India will remain closed for up to 15 days in September 2025. However, this does not mean that all banks across the country will be closed for the full duration, as holidays vary by region.

September features several festivals including Onam, Durga Puja, and more, which influence the bank holiday schedule. Additionally, banks are closed every Sunday and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Major banks like State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and others follow these regional bank holidays.

- Sept 3 (Wed): Banks closed in Ranchi for Karma Puja
- Sept 4 (Thu): Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram closed for Onam
- Sept 5 (Fri): Banks in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada closed for Eid-e-Milad / Milad-un-Nabi
- Sept 6 (Sat): Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur, Srinagar banks closed for Eid-e-Milad / Indra Jatra
- Sept 12 (Fri): Jammu and Srinagar banks closed after Eid-e-Milad
- Sept 22 (Mon): Jaipur banks closed for Navratri
- Sept 23 (Tue): Jammu and Srinagar banks closed for Maharaja Hari Singh’s Birthday
- Sept 29 (Mon): Agartala, Gangtok, Kolkata banks closed for Maha Saptami / Durga Puja
- Sept 30 (Tue): Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi banks closed for Maha Ashtami / Durga Ashtami
In addition to these dates, all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays are non-working days. This totals approximately 15 days of bank holidays in September 2025.
